Here are a few easy hair tips for things you can do at home.

  1. Use a toothbrush to backcomb your hair in small sections like your fringe or soft volume around the sides.
  2. If you suffer from an itchy, flaky scalp try crushing up any hard coated pills and add it to your shampoo which will exfoliate the scalp.
  3. If you dont have any dry shampoo in the cupboardbut dont have time to wash your hair tyry sprinkling some plain old flour onto your rots and it will do the same job.
  4. To brighten up red hair pour on cranberry juice. It will refresh the colour. Leave on for 5 mins or longer if you want a bright tone.
  5. After popping all those bottles of wine and champagne this party season keep the corks and use then as mini rollers. Wind 1/2 inch sections of hair and secure with a bobby pin then blast dry with a hairdryer.
  6. If your hair is feeling a little dry cover it in mayonnaise and put on a shower cap. Leave for 15 minutes then wash off wit shampoo.
  7. Wash your hair in cool water as the hotter the water the more your cuticles will left up and leave your hair feeling dry where as cool water will close your cuticles leaving your hair silky and shiny.
  8. Wash your hair every 2-3 days as washing it every day will strip it of its natural oils.
  9. If your hair is feeling dry and damaged heat up some almond oil for 40 seconds and leave on your hair for 30 minutes before washing it off with shampoo and condition and cool water.
  10. A lovely easy treatment if your hair is sun damaged after the summer holidays mix 1/2 cup of honey with 1-2 tbsp of olive oil and 1-2 tbsp of egg yolk. Leave it on your hair for 20 minutes and rinse off.
  11. One of the best ways to have healthy hair is to have a healthy diet of lost of raw fruit and vegetables and drink plenty of water.
