5 MISTAKES WHEN CHOOSING A HAIRDRESSER AND HOW TO AVOID THEM

GOING FOR CHEAP

Its the old saying ‘you get what you pay for’ If you only go to a hairdresser because they are cheap then you will probably be disappointed with the result. There is a reason why hairdressers are priced how they are and i is based on experience and skill so if someone is ‘too good to be true’ they probably are and may be underskilled for what you want.

NOT SEEING THEIR WORK

Always ask for examples of the hairdressers work so you can see their ability. Any decent hairdresser would have no problem at all in showing you photos of hairstyles they have created or even possibly talking to other clients to hear their experiences.

NOT KNOWING ANYTHING ABOUT THE HAIRDRESSER

If you havent been recommended to the hairdresser dont be afraid to ask about their training and experience in the industry, After all, your hair is a major part of how you feel and if they mess it up you wont be happy and have to live with the consequences.

ALL HAIRDRESSERS ARE THE SAME

Every single hairdresser has different abilities, skills, strengths and experiences so dont presume just because you have had a great haircut with one stylist it means another stylist will do the same job and if you are happy with your hairstylist whether you have the same style month on month or change your style at every appointment or working towards a new style that takes growth dont change or go else where if you cant get in with your hairdresser as they know what you like and what you want to achieve and you will never be disppointed.

THEY DO WHAT THEY WANT TO DO AND DONT ASK YOU QUESTIONS

When you first meet your hairstylist and you are having a consultation make it clear what you are wanting to achieve. Take pictures if you see a style that you like and want a simliar look. Your stylist may advise you on a something that they think will suit you better but dont be bullied into it if it really isnt what you want
